  I was originally going to stay at Skydancer in Belcourt for a business trip. The place put me off as disorganized, unambitious and way overpriced.
  
  I decided to stop in at the Bilmar which I saw passing through on a previous business trip a year prior.
  
  Room and hallway:
  
  With a cozy, small room in the $50s, I got an excellent value for the stay. The hallway smelled like smoke so a smoke must have broke the rules that night, but the room was quiet and clean. I slept very well.
  
  Shower:
  
  The shower is one of those stainless steel, high-pressure, spray-yourself-clean style that I like and installed in my own house and I call that a major plus over the other motels that have shower heads that go to great expense in emulating a rainfall.
  
  Bed:
  
  I like a firm bed and that's what they definitely have here.
  
  Phone:
  
  There is a phone in the room.
  
  Breakfast:
  
  They have a cereal buffet (I had frosted flakes), donuts, orange juice. I'm a no-frills guest
  
  Hot-tub & Sauna:
  
  The hot tub is closed for the season (operates winter only). The sauna is an unusual amenity.
  
  Staff:
  
  Met the owner and he's a classy guy. We worked in similar industries in the past and it was nice to talk to somebody whom is educated and been about the world. I had a morning meeting and will have a late afternoon meeting. He let me use the internet in the lobby, well past checkout time so that I can get some work done. He even invited me to jump in the sauna again if I felt like it.
  
  Other:
  
  They do have cool music on the sound system. Sort of a chirpy 70's easy listening instrumental covers of hop hits of the era. Recognized tunes of Mauriat and Pourcel played this morning. Right now as I type, I hear some synthesizer pop to a disco beat.
  
  It's a budget hotel, but they are really trying to be a little upscale for their upscale clients. Show a little classiness to them and you will have great service and amenity.
